I have spent the last 2 years dodging bullets, avoiding getting trampled in riots and being nice to people with machetes, traveling the world working as a freelance journalist. To get a story I have convinced villagers to let me ride their water buffalo in Cambodia, climbed through a sweltering jungle in the D.R.C., jumped off a bridge in Bosnia and lived in a mud hut in Zimbabwe. I have traveled to over 50 countries alone and all on a shoe-string budget. All my travels have been alone and on public transportation.

I spent almost a year reporting from 16 countries in Africa, then continued freelancing from Nepal, India and Eastern Europe and focused on in-depth interviews in Kosovo, Albania and Bosnia.

Now I am traveling in South America and writing a book about my experiences.
